As we say "goodbye" to another year, it's the perfect time to reflect upon our choices that have made 2008 what it was. For us, it was certainly the year of change, as it was for many others. The number 8 represents new beginnings...and looking back over 2008 - it was exciting, challenging, tiresome, wonderful, empty and complete all at the same time.
This was a year of growth. 2007 was a year we had been pruned, beaten and scorned. This last year we threw our ego's out the door and became teachable, coachable, with a true desire to help others.
We've been blessed with 2 amazing bulldogs, Peanut & Chanel - our little girls! Extremely supportive family and friends who would do anything for us and booming businesses thanks in part to some of you. During Thanksgiving we often speak of our gratefulness and gratitude, yet by Christmas Eve—we are worn and discouraged as our pocket books run slim, turkey consumption is at it's max, and one more viewing of "It's a Wonderful Life' could cause a mental breakdown.
It's important that as we roll into the New Year, we continue our pledge and practice of gratitude. In business, we teach "Appreciation wins over Self-Promotion." Don't you think if everyone lived their life by that we'd be in a much happier place? Our constant state of gratitude is what makes our not-so-perfect-yet-oh-so-new-beginnings of 2008 seem absolutely necessary.
We are grateful for things that cannot be measured and even down to the little indulgences like gambas con ajo from Pita Jungle, the beauty of white Christmas lights on our back porch and a warm coffee with hazelnut creamer on a wintry Arizona day.
Each and every morning, start your day off with love and appreciation "I am so happy and grateful that…"
...You'd be surprised where that will lead you.
During this time of year I can't help but reflect on the things that I believe in. I'd like to share with you some of my beliefs, and challenge you to take a moment to write your own list, along with the daily commitment to take time to reflect life's blessings.
I believe that you can do anything you set your mind to.
I believe that we all have something to contribute to the world and have a choice to greatness.
I believe what you send out you get back.
I believe that the written word is powerful and can change lives.
I believe it's important to act on our promptings.
I believe that you must live each day as if it's your last. And to ask yourself, where am I going after this is all gone?
I believe that we're changing the world one card at a time.
I believe on living off of 10% of your income and giving away 90%.
I believe in paying cash for just about anything and not having any debt.
I believe that you can create anything as long as you have desire.
I believe that 2009 will bring more hardship for those who are mediocre and opportunity for those who are extraordinarly innovative.
I believe in Jesus Christ and I cherish the annual celebration of his birth.
I believe it is OK to tell you what I believe because I respect you for what you believe.
I believe we all have different Value and Belief's windows. It is not my job to make your window align with mine.
I believe in focusing on the core belief that we all have the desire to love and be loved.
God bless everyone!
Peace Out
